Cameron Phillips Heyward was born on the 6th of May, 1989, in Pennsylvania.

Heyward attended Peachtree Ridge High School in Suwanee, Georgia, where he played for the Peachtree Ridge Lions high school football team.

He was the 2006 Georgia Class 5A Defensive Player of the Year. The team tied for the Georgia Class 5A State Championship that same year.

Career 

Cameron Heyward started his college career at Ohio University and appeared in the BCS National Championships and 2009 Fiesta Bowl. 

As a junior, he led the Buckeyes to the Rose Bowl and decided against entering the NFL Draft to finish his senior year in Ohio. 

During his last year, he finished with 48 total tackles and 3.5 sacks, leading his team with Terrelle Pryor to the Allstate 2011 Sugar Bowl. 

Leaving Ohio State, he was projected to be a first-round pick, and he attended the NFL Combine where he was ranked eighth-best defensive end.

In the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft, Cameron Heyward was selected 31st overall by one of the richest NFL teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Heyward made his professional debut in the season opener and recorded his first sack in October against Matt Hasselbeck, the Titans quarterback.
